your secret despatch of the 9th November, 1939,

forwarding various documents selected from or explanatory

of those seized on the premises of the Central China Trust

in Kowloon on the 25th September, 1939. The documents 11

question are being studied with much interest.

2. I have noted with pleasure your commendation of

Mr. D.W. Waterton of the Hong Kong Wireless Service and

Mr. R.R. Ellis, Sub-Inspector of Police, to whom it is

clear that much credit is due for the manner in which th

carried out the important and complicated enquiries

entrusted to them in this case.
